Dewey S. Cook died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2008 at his home in Ottawa, KS at the age of 73. He was born in Boone County, NE, on Jan. 26, 1935 to George S. and Laura M. (Miller) Cook.
He graduated from Albion High School in 1953. He was baptized and confirmed in Albion Methodist Church and attended Faith Lutheran Church in Ottawa, KS.
Max R. Flaherty

Max R. Flaherty, 76, of Edmonds, WA, passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008. He was born May 13, 1931 in Nance County, Nebraska and was the son of William J. and Katherine (Kiernan) Flaherty.
He lived in the north Seattle area since 1961. Max served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956.
Randy Carl Zipf

Memorial services were held Saturday, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE for Randy Carl Zipf. Pastor Larry Sydow officiated with interment at Valley View Cemetery in Genoa, NE.
He passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008 at Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings, NE.
He was born Dec. 16, 1956 in Columbus, NE to Bob and Darline (Lamoree) Zipf.
Adrian E. Stenger

Funeral services were held for Adrian E. Stenger on Feb. 16, 2008, at ColumbKill Catholic Church in Papillion, NE. Officiating at the services were, Father Damien Wee, Father John Hagemann and Deacon Frank Mascarello. Pallbearers were Michael Stenger, Dean Stenger, Jeffrey Stenger, Jesse Stenger, nephews, and James Dubas and Chad Cogdill, sons-in-laws.
He passed away Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008 due to complications from cancer surgery. He was born Dec. 29, 1947 to William and Angela (Borer) Stenger. He graduated from Lindsay Holy Family High School in 1966, and entered the service in 1967. His basic training was at Fort Lewis, WA and he served near Seoul, Korea with the 31st Artillery Division. Adrian was honorably discharged in 1969.

Funeral services were held for Lyle Harold Worden on Friday, Feb. 15, 2008 at the United Methodist Church in Burwell, NE at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Joel Rathbun officiating. Burial was in the Cottonwood Cemetery in Burwell. Visitation was Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell.
Lyle Harold Worden, 93, of Burwell, passed away Friday Feb. 8, 2008 at the Golden Living Center in Columbus, NE.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice or Community Memorial Center.
Planning Commission takes comments on zoning changes

Boone County Planning Commission spent nearly two hours Monday night, Feb. 25, Â hearing public comments on possible changes in the county zoning regulations.
The commission is considering possible changes in the regulations during a moratorium on new confined livestock feeding operations. Last month, the board heard from various resource persons on a variety of subjects.
This month, most of the meeting was used for public discussion, beginning with a list of proposed zoning changes that came from three meetings of concerned citizens held in January. About 30 people were on hand for the discussion. Read more in the Feb. 27 Albion News.
