Matt Nelson Receives His H.O.F. Award
One team, one coach and six individual athletes were presented as the 2008 inductees to the Albion Downtown Athletic Club Hall of Fame at the annual Albion/Boone Central Alumni Banquet Saturday, June 14.
Ron Erickson, representing the Downtown Athletic Club, introduced the 1980 Class B state champion girls track & field team, former Albion Coach William Putman, Ralph Beckwith, Gary Siebler, Jerry Carder, Matt Nelson, Monte Brown and Mike Grape as the new members of the club’s HOF.
The D.A.C. began its Hall of Fame project in 2002 and inducts new honorees every two years.
