BC Cagers In St. Paul Holiday Tourney

bc-baskeetball-vs-t-river-005.jpgThe Boone Central girls and boys teams will again compete in the annual Holiday Basketball Tournament, hosted this year by St. Paul.
The tournament will begin with first-round games Friday, Jan. 2, and conclude with consolation and championship contests Saturday, Jan. 3.
The Boone Central girls (5-0) will tip-off the tournament against Gothenburg at 12:00 noon Friday.
Gothenburg is 3-3 in 2008-09, with victories over Lexington, Southern Valley and Perkins County and losses to Hershey, Holdrege and Minden. Host St. Paul (0-5) and Ord (2-3) will meet in the other girls first-round game at 3:30 Friday.
The Cardinal boys (1-4) open tourney play with a 1:45 match-up vs. Gothenburg (3-3).
The Swedes have wins over Hershey, Southern Valley and North Platte St. Patrick’s and losses to Lexington, Perkins County and Holdrege. St. Paul (5-0) and Ord (1-3) will square off in the final first-round contest at 5:15 Friday.
Saturday, the girls consolation game will begin at 12:00 noon, followed by the boys consolation at 1:45. The girls championship contest will be played at 3:30, with the boys title game concluding the event at 5:15.
All games will be played at the St. Paul High School gymnasium.
