New director, assistant on duty at Fitness Center

A new director and assistant director have started their duties at Boone County Fitness Center in Albion.

The new manager is Angie Knuth, 36, a native of Fremont. She has previously been an assistant business manager, but this is her first experience in fitness center management.

The assistant manager is Mike McDermott of Petersburg. He is also a native of Fremont, has lived at Petersburg for the past two years and has been working at Leifeld’s Furniture in Albion.

Matt Kalvelage, the previous fitness center manager, recently moved to Michigan where he will be a recruiter for youth sports camps.
