A severe storm packing winds of 60 to 70 miles per hour caused thousands of dollars in damage Monday afternoon, March 23, in rural areas west and north of Albion.

At the Kevin and Lisa Wagner farm, seven miles west and 1 1/2 north of Albion (above photo) a calving shed was blown into the house and pieces were strewn through the yard.

Major wind damage also occured at the Jeff Beckwith farm, nine miles west of town, when a machine shed was lifted from its foundation and twisted by the wind.
