Gov. Dave Heineman stopped at Julie’s Catering and Restaurant in Albion Tuesday morning to take the pulse of the local economy.

He spent more than an hour visiting and answering questions on a wide variety of topics from about 30 area residents who are involved in local government and economic development.

As for Nebraska as a whole, Gov. Heineman said the state has been “fortunate” to be one of three or four states that haven’t experienced a fiscal crisis due to the economic recession.
