Couple opens J-Max Surplus in Albion

A new store, J-Max Surplus, has opened at 112 South Fourth Street in Albion. This is the former location of The Outlet.

Owners John and Diana Maxfield of Fullerton said their store offers a variety of merchandise, including guns and ammunition, new clothing and general merchandise.

The store opened for the first time on Sept. 17, and it will be open Wednesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.

The Maxfields moved to Fullerton about five years ago from Denver, CO, where they lived for 25 years. John, a native of Burwell, NE, was in the wholesale business for 25 years in Denver. Diana, a Denver native, was a teacher there.
