Vets Club drive stands at $171,000

Cash, pledges and in-kind donations totaling $171,000 had been given to the Albion Veterans Club Memorial Building Fund as of Dec. 28, 2009.
The total includes $126,000 in donations, $10,000 in in-kind donations and $35,000 from the American Legion Post.
The fund drive for the new Veterans Club building is still $29,000 short of its $200,000 goal.
