Property owners want damage repaired

April 27, 2010

Last winter’s blizzards deep snow accumulations caused problems for county road crews clearing roads.

In some areas, county crews pushed snow through fences and onto private property in order to move it away from roads.

On Monday, the county board received a request from farmers Alvin Luettel and Ken Kerkman, who asked that the county clean up the posts and wire from the ditch and fenceline, and to help repair the damage.

They were referring to property along 140th Street, west of Petersburg, where they said about one-half mile of fence was destroyed and a shelter belt was damaged.
