Albion’s campground area, west of Fuller Park, is being expanded this spring to accommodate more campers.

City employees are already at work, installing sewer lines to serve the eight existing camper spots and the extension of six new ones to the south.

In addition to water and sewer service, the electrical service to the full service camper stalls will be upgraded to provide as much as 50 amp service.

Along with the 14 stalls at the edge of the park, the city will be adding 12 stalls in the area near the street to the west where trees were planted last summer. These stalls will have only water and electrical service available.

Husker Football Returning To Glory Days

I needed some Bruce Springsteen following Saturday’s annual Nebraska Red/White Spring Game, ‘cause all I could think about was “Glory Days”.
Ah, yes, Husker fans, Nebraska football is back. I mean, really back!
You know what I’m talking about. That which the Bobfather built. That T.O. sustained, then elevated to an even higher level. That Bo Pelini has revived.
The Big Red. Make that the Big Bad Red!
Things are good in Lincoln. Really good. Saturday was a testament to that.
Oh sure, there are still some lingering question marks about the QB position heading into the summer. There’s a wee bit of a hole to be filled on defense, left by a man named Suh. And the Huskers still must prove they can defeat the evil empire from Austin.
No matter. We won’t long need to rely on the old memories of glory days past. They’ll need to make room in the Memorial Stadium trophy cases for new hardware in the not-too-distant future.
Mark my words. Read more

Boone Central golfers saw plenty of action without leaving town this past week, competing against Fullerton and Twin River in a Tuesday triangular at the Albion Country Club and hosting the annual Boone Central Invitational Saturday.
Competitors faced near gale-force winds in the triangular meet Tuesday, rendering scoring conditions very difficult. Fullerton won the varsity competition with a 190 team total, followed by Twin River (193) and the host Cardinals (205). Twin River had the low score in JV play, 207, with Boone Central (225) second and Fullerton (243) third. Read more
