Boone County area farmers were back in the fields late last week, after rain showers slowed the pace of planting through April 25. By May 3, the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service estimated that Nebraska farmers had planted 48 percent of the corn acreage and eight percent of the soybean acreage.
