Original Boone County Fair Board documents were found last week in the basement of Boone County Bank in Albion.

First official minutes and by-laws of the Boone County Agricultural Society, all hand-written, were discovered during a cleaning operation in the bank. Holding the books in this photo are, l. to r., Ag Society President Chuck Rolf, left, and Boone County Bank Vice President/Branch Manager Mike Grape.

The by-laws are dated December 2, 1887, and the minute book begins in 1885, when the society was first being formed.
