Ramona Coakes receives honor

Ramona Coakes, an active member of the Albion VFW Auxiliary, received the 2010 Living Auxiliary Member award during Monday’s Memorial Day ceremony.

In her honor, an American Flag, which had flown over the U.S. Capitol, was raised at Albion’s downtown mini-park. An engraved plaque was also installed on the flagpole there.

All three of her children, Jolene Roberg and Ron and Tracy Coakes, as well as many grandchildren, were on hand for the honor.
