Plenty of activities for children highlighted the 2010 Boone County Fair, which opened Saturday and continues through Wednesday, July 14, at the county fairgrounds in Albion. The young girl above enjoyed her turn on the mechanical bull.

Rain shortened the fair program on the first two nights, but overall attendance was especially good on Sunday of opening weekend.

Large crowds were expected for the Combine Demolition Derby and Two-Car Chain Races on Tuesday night, and the School Bus Races and Tuff Truck and Car Races on Wednesday night.
