Sand Volleyball A Hot Fair Hit

Thirteen co-ed teams braved the heat and humidity to compete in a two-day, double-elimination sand volleyball tournament at the Boone County Fair in Albion July 10-11.
A team comprised of players from Lincoln and Albion came through the action unscathed, defeating a squad from the Spalding area in Sunday’s final.
Members of the undefeated championship team were Adam and McKenzie Flanagan, Tony Gragert, Samantha Henn, Ryan McCracken and Amanda Kermoade.
Runner-up team members were Trevor Marlo, Ben Callahan, Lisa Thome, Emily Esch, Kayla Glessinger, Schyler Erickson, Shelby Rother and Brandon Ray.
A local team of Heidi Reinhart, Jordan Temme, Thomas Wells, Erica Carder, Emily Carder, Dusty Dozler and Jackie Bosak took third place and the team of Jay and Steph Wlaschin, Trisha and Brent Martinsen, Tom Buettner and Joleen Robinson placed fourth.
