Local schools open

Summer has ended for students at Boone Central Schools and St. Michael’s School in Albion. The first day of classes was Wednesday, Aug. 18.

In the photo above, Lisa Pedro, left, and Sherri Kelley, right, were unpacking boxed in the Boone Central preschool room on Monday, Aug. 16, in preparation for the start of the new school year. 

Students attended for only half-day sessions on the first day. Full school days begin for most students on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 19-20. However, Boone Central kindergarten will have half days only through Friday. The kindergarten will have its first full day on Monday, Aug. 23.
