Significant progress has been made on a capital campaign to build a 20-bed rehabilitation and skilled care building to replace the north wing of Wolf Memorial Home in Albion.

Campaign leaders report they are nearly halfway to the goal of raising $750,000 in local contributions for a gift challenge that will help bring the project to reality.

The campaign was started at the beginning of this year by Good Samaritan Society-Albion (GSS-Albion). The campaign goal is $2.25 million.

GSS-Albion first raised $750,000 for the campaign. Then, a campaign supporter, who has chosen to remain anonymous, offered a $750,000 challenge match gift. This means all current or pledged gifts received through Dec. 31, 2010, will be matched dollar for dollar up to that amount - doubling the impact of each gift.

To date, $357,061 has been given toward the matched gift. To take full advantage of the match, an additional $392,939 is needed before the end of December.
