It may have been competition between players from smaller schools in the smallest of high school football classifications, but there was big enthusiasm and passion on display in the 5th Annual Nebraska vs. Wyoming Six-Man All-Star Shootout, held Saturday at the Boone Central athletic field in Albion
One thing is certain – Six-Man Football is never boring, on either side of the ball. There were plenty of offensive fireworks, with nifty open-field moves by runners, leaping and diving receptions by receivers, but also many solid hits and tackles by defenders.
In fact, it was defense that proved to be the deciding factor in Nebraska’s 59-32 victory – the second consecutive win for Nebraska, narrowing Wyoming’s series edge to 3-2.
