Michael T. Lough, 74, formerly of Albion, died Friday, Dec. 2, at a Topeka, KS hospital, where he was being treated for advanced dementia, kidney failure and repeated bouts with pneumonia. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 6 at St. Michael’s Church in Albion.

Clinton F. Asche, 82 of Spalding, NE, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2011 at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Spalding, NE, with Rev. Don Buhrman and Rev. Jim Murphy officiating. Interment followed in the parish cemetery with Military Rites by American Legion Post 299 of Spalding and the United States Air Force Honor Guard. Dolce-Scheef Mortuary of Spalding, NE was in charge of arrangements.

Wilbert J. “Cookie” Cook, 81, of Albion, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011 after suffering a severe heart attack at his home. Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, Nov. 26 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Interment followed at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, with Military Rites conducted by the Dan Cox American Legion Post 44 of Cedar Rapids. Wallace (Wally) L Abraham, 75, of Mesa, AZ, formerly of Lincoln and Albion, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011 at Mesa East Nursing Home in Mesa. Mr. Abraham donated his body to South West Institute for Bio Advancment, and at a later date he will be cremated per his wishes. A memorial service will be held on Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. at Southwood Lutheran, 9300 S. 40th St. in Lincoln.

Travis D. Starman, 27, of Bellevue died Monday, Nov. 14, 2011 the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha following a battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, Nov. 18 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus. Interment was held at All Saints Cemetery in Columbus, with military honors by Offutt Air Force Base Honor Guard.

Esther M. Kleffner, 92, of Spalding died Friday, Nov. 11, 2011 at Avera Creighton Hospital, Creighton. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 16 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Internment was at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
