Lady Cardinals Win Holiday Title, Remain Unbeaten

lehmann.jpgThe Boone Central Lady Cardinals have stamped themselves as definite Class C1 state contenders through the first third of the 2011-12 basketball season. A dominant championship performance in the Ord Holiday Tournament Dec. 29-30 did nothing but enhance that perception.
Boone Central ran past Gothenburg 75-28 in the tournament opener, then thumped host Ord 59-35 in the title game to improve its season record to 9-0. Read more

Following a big victory like the Boone Central Lady Cardinals’ dismantling of #2 ranked Minden Dec. 19, coaches are always wary of a letdown.
While the Cards got off to a bit of a sluggish start at Lakeview Thursday, there were no long-term effects to damper a terrific start to the 2011-12 season in Boone Central’s final contest before the holiday break.
Boone Central, playing deep into its roster throughout the game, wore down the host ViQueens and ran away with a 55-29 decision that improved its record to 7-0. Read more

Boone Central Mat Team Battles Aquinas

The Boone Central wrestling team finished the pre-holiday portion of its 2011-12 season with a dual match at David City Aquinas Friday, Dec. 23. The competition was postponed earlier in the season by weather conditions.
While the Cardinals dropped a 40-30 decision and won just two contested matches, Coach Dale Bonge said his team can take some things away from the event that will benefit BC in the future. Read more

The Boone Central Lady Cardinals improved to 5-0 and prepared for a shot at Class C1 #2 Minden Monday by dispatching Twin River and West Holt last week.
Boone Central jumped on host Twin River early Tuesday and scored a 49-34 victory at Genoa.
The Cardinals came out blazing and raced to a 19-4 1st quarter lead as Jaime Kennedy rained in a pair of 3-point field goals and Jade Gottier canned another while scoring five points. The duo each added another trey in the 2nd period as BC opened a 32-15 halftime advantage. Read more
