			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p align="justify">Boone Central School patrons turned down a $20.85 school building proposal by a margin of more than two to one in Tuesday&#8217;s primary electon.</p>
<p align="justify">A total of 1,186 votes (67.5 percent) were cast against the bond proposal, while there were 570 votes (32.5 percent) in favor of the measure.</p>
<p align="justify">The bond proposal would have funded a new high school building, along with renovation of the present Albion school building to serve as a pre-kindergarten, elementary and middle school. The proposal also included a 500-seat fine arts auditorium as part of the high school building complex, and renovation of the existing outdoor athletic complex.</p>
<p align="justify">Voters in eight precincts cast ballots in the Boone Central bond election.</p>
<p align="justify">In the Republican race for District 2 Boone County Commissioner, incumbent Jerry Tisthammer was elected to a fourth four-year term on the board.</p>
<p align="justify">Tisthammer defeated challenger Tom Fick by a margin of 66 votes, 359 to 293. The race was a rematch from four years ago, when Tisthammer edged Fick by only eight votes.</p>

<p align="justify">Albion voters approved a keno lottery issue on the primary ballot by a margin of 522 votes in favor to 245 against.</p>
