One of the first events I had the chance to attend when I first came to the community was the Boone Central Choral Clinic performance. I come from a musical family, and my kids all love music - from my college age one down to my kindergartener.

Lighting contest held in Petersburg

For the first time in many years Petersburg along with Loup Power District co-sponsored a village Christmas lighting contest. Village board members served as judges viewing the many varied holiday lighting displays December 22. Winners were 1st place receiving $200 Doug and Jean Reicks, son Zach has the Christmas spirit, imagination and is responsible for putting up the 1000’s of lights along with other decorations.

Lady Cards Dominate LHNE

BC 66 – LHNE 18 The Boone Central Lady Cardinals put the skids on their three-game losing streak in a dominant fashion as they destroyed Lutheran High Northeast (0-5) at home on Dec 16th. The Cards never trailed in this one as they took an early lead building it to a 17-2 position after one and carried the momentum all the way through.

Cards continue with tough foes

The Boone Central Cardinals boys basketball team had another tough week heading into the holiday break facing two good teams and struggling to get shots to fall. BC 51 – LHNE 68 Sophomore Kaden Miller led the Cardinals with 15 pts, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 deflections and 4 steals in a losing effort for Boone Central as they failed to sustain a hot start against Lutheran High Northeast (31), falling 68-51 on Dec 16th.

Lady Cardinals finish near top at Tekamah

The Boone Central Lady Cardinal wrestling team traveled to the Tekamah-Herman Girls invitational on Saturday, Dec. 20, picking up a top-five finish for their efforts and a number of medals.
