FEBRUARY, 1984: (continued) PHS was #3 seed in girls district play. Leading the girls were Brenda Spieker, Lori Iburg, Jeanine Ketteler and Brenda Staashelm. The boys were led by Tom Temme, Roger Seier and Jerry Stuhr. Both teams were runners up.

Fire department members noted that the area has had several days of Red Flag warnings. • Residents are reminded that, as in this case, a fire you may think is out may still have the possibility of flaring up with strong winds.

Cardinal golfers teed up, ready to swing

As I write this, it’s a little chilly at 34 degrees, so hard to believe it’s time for the spring sports season but here it is. The Boone Central boys golf team is ready to hit the links and see if they have what it takes to qualify several for the state tournament in May.

Boone-Nance Cattlemen plan annual banquet

Boone-Nance Cattlemen are planning their annual banquet for Saturday, April 6, at the Event Center on the county fairgrounds. Social hour will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the prime rib dinner at 6:30.

Ag Appreciation breakfast held

Community residents attended a pancake breaskfast celebrating area agriculture last Saturday in the Petersburg Fire Hall. Making the pancakes were Glenn Meyers and Corey Stokes. Todd Heithoff was pouring batter. The event was sponsored by the Petersburg Community Club and about 85 attended.

Community Builders will meet in Howells

Body
Community Builders will be gathering this Thursday, March 21, at Howells starting at 3:30 p.m. The group will visit Maple Creek Seeds, Howells Ballroom, and the Howells Historical Museum, followed by a tour and supper at 4:45 p.m.
