More than 300 BRAN riders coming to Petersburg June 5-6

More than 300 bike riders from throughout Nebraska and several other states will be in Petersburg in just two weeks. Area residents are invited to help welcome the riders and attend the various events and meals planned in Petersburg Wednesday and Thursday, June 5 and 6.

Molt paces Riverside ‘24 state track success

Riverside has become accustomed to track and field competition through the years, both in the regular season and when district and state championships roll around. The 2024 season was no exception as a strong contingent of Chargers were on hand at Omaha Burke Stadium May 17-18 for the Nebraska State Championships.
Riverside senior Jack Molt added three state track/field medals (100, 200, 4x100) to his career collection in last week’s championships at Omaha Burke Stadium.

There weren’t many Humphrey/ Lindsay Holy Family Bulldogs at Omaha Burke this past week, but Garett Durkop and Karley Vering closed the 2024 track and field season competing in the Nebraska State Championships.

Scholarship awards to 2024 Boone Central grads

Out of 54 students in the Boone Central 2024 senior class, 47 applied for local scholarships to continue their education. Of those 47, 38 of them (or 81%) received at least one local scholarship for a grand total of more than $84,000 in scholarships awarded from the local area community, according to Leanne Blanchard, high school counselor.
