Filing deadlines are approaching for village board and public power district board candidates in Nebraska. Incumbents in these offices must file by July 15.
In just a few days, the 2024 Boone County Fair will open with country music and entertainment events for the whole family. The 140th annual fair leads off Saturday, July 6, with top country music entertainment in front of the grandstand featuring the Eli Young Band with special guest Walker Montgomery.
Two box culvert replacement projects on Boone County roads were given the green light by county commissioners at their meeting last Wednesday, June 26. The county board accepted the bid of A & R Construction, Plainview, for the Petersburg Southwest project on 160th Street and the Albion North projet on a portion of 120th Avenue.

The Albion Seniors were back in action last week with a long road stand cut a little short by weather. Their first match found them in Ord on Wednesday Jun 26th. The Cardinals were a little shaky in the first but got things back on track enroute to a 5-2 victory.
