In the midst of the “buzz” over the weekend – the car show, alumni reunion, street dance and more – most, if not all cell phones in the area were also buzzing with extra excitement as severe weather rolled through the area in somewhat spectacular fashion. Severe weather warnings started mid-afternoon, and continued until after 7-8 p.m. as severe weather approached, then split around Albion and Petersburg, and washed through Boone County on all sides, but avoiding the festivities.

Area children will be the actors in the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of “The Wizard of Oz” this Saturday, June 22, in Albion. Two performances are planned at 3 p.m.

May rainfall keeps everyone moving and mowing

May brought additional rainfall which kept residents mowing their rapidly growing lawns. By the first week of May some of the earlier planted crops were either being washed out or silted under causing a need for some to be replanted.
