Northeast Community College in Norfolk has released the President’s Honor List and Dean’s Honor List for both full- and part-time students for the fall 2023 semester. To be named to the President’s Honor List, students must earn a grade point average of 4.0 and be enrolled for at least 12 credit hours.

Nebraska Com Board (NCB) had two board members representing the state during the U.S. Grains Council’s (USGC’s) Com Harvest Quality Report events, with seminars recently taking place in Taiwan, Japan and South Korea for buyers in those markets.

Many area students were recently named to the Wayne State College fall dean’s list. A total of 1,312 students on the dean’s list for exemplary academic achievement during the fall 2023 semester.

Crop insurance provides a safety net for farmers, protecting their operations from loss due to natural perils such as drought, frost, excess moisture, pest infestations, or disease. While essential for many farmers, the rules regulating crop insurance have often been at odds with conservation practices.

Boone Central’s varsity speech team again brought home the sweepstakes championship in their third meet of the season last Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Chanticleer Invitational in Ord.

St. Michael’s School and the Albion Knights of Columbus kicked off Catholic Schools Week last Sunday, Jan. 28, with a pancake breakfast (below) and a large book fair in the KC Hall. Events are continuing this week with special dress-up days at St. Michael’s. On Friday, Feb. 2, there will be an all-school communion service, a movie at the Gateway Theatre, sack lunches and an early dismissal at 12:30 p.m.

’ A group of 15 Boone Central fifth and sixth graders traveled to Central City on Saturday, Jan. 27, to take part in the Sing Around Nebraska festival.
