NRD to assess fields in special management areas

In February 2023, the Lower Loup Natural Resources District (LLNRD) Board of Directors passed a rule to allow the NRD to assess all agricultural fields within the district’s three groundwater quality management areas annually for the purpose of locating potentially problematic sites.

‘Noun books’ presented

Eighth graders at Boone Central Middle School wrote, revised and published a book for the second graders. Each book had to teach about nouns and was customized to the second grader they chose to write for. Eighth graders read and presented the books to the second graders last Friday. Boone Central has FFA Proficiency state qualifiers

Boone Central FFA Chapter has eight members who recently qualified for state competition and received Golds awards in Proficiency. The state qualifiers include: • Brant Benes in beef production • Bella Meyer in sales and service • Audra Groth in diversified livestock production • Katelyn Krohn in hospitality, restaurant and tourism • Briana Johnson in health and human services • Cassidy Maricle in sheep production • Britney Naber in ag processing • Ava Buhlmann in veterinary science.
