Students from 37 schools in Northeast Nebraska were selected for participation in the Stanton Junior High Honor Band. Included in this selection were 10 Boone Central band students.

Lady Cards face tough teams at conference

The Lady Cardinals earned some time to rest last week after a gauntlet of a week the week before. Following their win against Ponca in the opening round of the Mid State Conference tournament, the Cards fell to the C2 #3 Crofton Warriors in the second round last Monday.
Pibel Lake cottonwood named “national champion”

It is official: the Cornhusker State has a new national champion. In the summer of 2024, a surveyor working at Pibel Lake in Wheeler County noticed a very large eastern cottonwood tree.
