Funeral services for Virginia “Ginny” Johnson, 92, of Pierce, formerly of Pilger, were held at on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk. Reverend Greg Rathke officiated, and a private family burial will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery, rural Albion.

It was a light week for the Boone Central Cardinals boys basketball team with only one match on the schedule. The Cards earned a first-round bye with their solid play last week so the only team on the calendar this week was the Battle Creek Braves (9-8).

Panther team wins over Eagles

On Monday January 27th, the junior high boys’ basketball team hosted the Nebraska Christian Eagles in Newman Grove, and the Panthers picked up a win, 30-25. The whole game was a tight affair with multiple lead changes.
