July 4 parade held downtown...

Stepping off right on time at 10 a.m. as promised, the Boone Central Marching band performed a number of songs over just a few blocks to lead the 2025 Kiddie Parade in downtown Albion to celebrate the July 4 weekend. Youth, parents and even a nationallyrecognized singer “Lee Greenwood” made and appearance (at right) in a variety of floats, bikes, wagons and strollers. Blood drive gathers 83 donated units

The Albion community blood drive was held Monday, June 30 at the Casey’s Building at the Boone County Fairgrounds. They had 83 units of blood donated from 85 donors.

Reilly wins special award at Law event

40 high school students had the opportunity to train like a trooper this week at the Nebraska State Patrol Training Academy. The cadets were all apart of the 55th Junior Law Academy, which gives high school seniors an inside look at what it takes to become a Nebraska State Trooper.

Kroening joins center as manager

The Beaver Valley Senior Center welcomes Jeff Kroening to their Center as of July 1. Jeff and his wife, Laurie, recently moved to the community from Gillett, Wisconsin where Jeff worked as a salesperson for Primal Eats.

Splash pad dedicated, volunteers honored

Wednesday evening an onsite splash pad dedication was scheduled at the park but by afternoon a weather prediction of rain caused the event to be held in the fire station, and the predicted rain did come which also closed carnival activities.
