A Memorial Service for Garrett L. Holscher, 33, of Newman Grove, will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Levander Funeral Home of Albion. Rev. Chris Phelps will officiate. The family will be available to receive condolences at the conclusion of the service. Interment will take place at a later date. Holscher passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Boone County Health Center in Albion. Memorials are suggested for the benefit of Garrett’s children, Odin and Aurora, for their future education. Donations will be overseen by their grandparents. Levander Funeral Home of Newman Grove, is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.levanderfuneralhome.com

Five Cardinals chosen for Cornhusker Girls State

Five young women have been chosen by the Albion Legion Auxiliary for this year’s Nebraska Legion Auxiliary Cornhusker Girls State program this June. The chosen Cornhusker Girls Staters for this year are: Eloise Martinez, daughter of Anne Laure & Robert Martinez Isabella Santarosa, daughter of Claudia and Eric Santarosa Brittany Jo Sup, daughter of Angela & Joel Sup Katelyn Curry, daughter of Tiffany & William Curry Johanna Spence, daughter of Rachelle & Jason Spence The girls will travel to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln college campus from May 31-June 6 for a week of study of local, county and state government processes in a nonpartisan, political learning experience.

Egg hunt held at Good Sam

There were 1700 Easter eggs hidden at Good Samaritan Saturday March 28. The eggs were filled by the residents at Good Samaritan, and there were three age groups students from Boone Central. Candy was donated by Tallgrass and the Albion Chamber.

Three medal at State Speech

Body
Three events and three medals for the SEHS Beaver Speech Team when they attended the NSAA Speech Championships. Kaden Albert participated in Unified Poetry and received a medal. There are a lot of times that have passed in my life that I really was hoping that someone would jump out from behind a pile of crates and yell that the entire thing was actually a huge joke. I don’t handle confrontation well, and though I usually seek it out, I really don’t like having personal conversations in quiet rooms with just a few people.
