ANBCT Staff As the citizens of Boone County went to the polls on Election Day, they did so in large numbers, as did the citizens of the state of Nebraska and the United States in a huge election turnout.

38 local charities will take part in Big Give

During the first week of December, 38 Boone County charitable organizations will be raising awareness and funds for needed projects to support their missions in the 2024 Boone County Big Give. Over the last 10 years, more than $2.5 million has been raised to support these projects and initiatives.

NSAA announces Believers for this season

The Nebraska School Activities Association announced the 202425 “Believers and Achievers” winners for the area school districts this week. Students named from Boone Central were: Payton Sullivan, Avery Krohn and Hannah Krohn.

Dirt work begins...

Dirt work started on the new park area for the equipment purchased as a memorial for Eli Porter in Fuller Park near the hospital and fairgrounds. The project was announced in November of 2023, and hit very near it’s hoped for start date. The 7000 square foot, all-inclusive park and equipment was part of fundraising and grant efforts over the last year, as well as last year’s Big Give, and was expected to cost around $165,000 after grants and donations kicked off the project.

Boone Central FFA off and running

The Boone Central FFA Chapter has been busy this year, already having attended multiple contests. They have competed in Range Judging contests at both St.Paul and Burwell, Land Judging in Albion, and Livestock Judging in Leigh.

Roberts, Krohn crowned at Color Day

This year’s 2024 Color Day court were crowned last Saturday, October 19 at the commencement festivities. Thomas Roberts, son of Susan and Andy Roberts, was crowned king during the 2024 ceremony at Boone Central’s Color Day.
