Newman Grove Lions host District Governor

The Newman Grove Lions Club hosted some special guests at its March 11 meeting. Despite an early morning snowstorm, District Governor Karen Jackson, from Tekamah, made her official visit to the club.

Also taking part in the presentation was club president Randy Benson. Governor Jackson also recognized Dennis McCloud, who could not attend the meeting, for 40 years as a Lion. Cardinals close year filled with adversity

While this season may not have been the season any of the members of the Boone Central Cardinals wanted. They persevered through adversity at every turn. Finding ways to hang with tough teams and fighting to the end even in games where victory was out of reach.

Chilson awarded for 50 year membership...

On Tuesday, March 3, the Newman Grove American Legion Commander Ivan Herchenbach presented Duane Chilson with his 50 year Golden Certificate and pin. Chilson served in the Special Forces for three years in Vietnam, he was discharged as a Sergeant.
