On February 13, in the District Court of Boone County, Kobe Roan, 23, was sentenced for the charge of first degree sexual assault of a child, a 1B felony. The victim was reported in court documents to be under 12 years of age.

Eleven junior and senior Boone Central students will travel to Washington D.C. at the end of April with sponsors Dan Zoucha and Cassie Olson on the Close Up Program.

With the Nebraska School Activities Association’s C-1 District competition down, Boone Central will be sending seven young men to the CHI Center in Omaha this weekend for the state wrestling tournament. The Cardinals picked up secondplace at the District tournament in Madison last weekend, just 1 point shy of the championship team title with 125 team points.

The winners of the state Voice of Democracy contest were announced at the VFW Mid-Winter Conference in Lincoln, on Friday January 30, 2026. The 10 district winners competed for over $10,000 in scholarship money. Elissa placed eighth. She is the daughter of Jason and Lisa Reynoldson of Albion.
