Fina Choat of St. Edward was among more than 4,450 graduates received degrees from Iowa State University this spring. Graduate and undergraduate commencement ceremonies were held May 9-11 at Hilton Coliseum, Aims, IA.

Weather observer Steve Wright reported that May 2024 rainfall in Albion set a 10-year record at 6.6 inches. This was the highest May rainfall since 2014. May rainfall has exceeded six inches one other time in that 10-year period, but the total was still less than 6.6 inches.

The 2024 Cops and Bobbers, hosted by local law enforcement, will take place June 15 at Stevenson Lake. Since June of 2016, locals and guests have gathered at Stevenson Lake for a fishing competition unlike most.
