For nearly 60 years, the city of Albion has benefited from having an economic development organization in place. Although the types of projects and support the organization has provided evolves with community needs, its purpose has remained consistent: to support quality of life through economic well being.

Cub Scout Pack 155, Scout Troop 155 and Girl Scout Troop 58770 will be “Scouting for Food” to collecting unexpired, non-perishable food items for the Boone County Food Pantry this Saturday, April 13.

A drama that features the World War II experiences of a young Nebraska soldier will be featured in Albion at the Boone Central High School Performing Arts Gym this Sunday, April 14, at 3 p.m. This work by Lincoln playwright Becky Boesen centers around the wartime experiences of Staff Sergeant Clarence Williams of Nebraska as related through his personal letters home.

Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) is reminding the public that it is unlawful to place political campaign signs, or any signs, on state highway and interstate right-of-way. This includes intersections, medians, entrance and exit ramps, sidewalks and the ditches and lands that make up the right-of-way bordering the length of each roadway.

A March ice and windstorm whipped through Cornhusker Public Power District’s service area on Monday, March 25, causing approximately 2,800 meters to be without power, many for two days. The storm started the morning of March 25 and did not let up until the evening of Tuesday, March 26.
