Saturday evening 386 Tap was filled with laughter and hopeful prize winners when the Petersburg Community Club hosted their annual October Bingo Night. Committee members Nathan Thieman and Tyson Lodge called the numbers while Kaitlin Bachman ran the numbers board and Cheri Werner distributed cards.

Harvest challenges during wind, drought...

Picture taken Thursday, October 17 southwest of Petersburg a miserable day with wind guests from 35 to 40 miles an hour at times totally obscuring the combines in the fields. Harvest has been in full swing during the past weeks much of the dryland has been harvested as well as some irrigated.

Roberts, Krohn crowned at Color Day

This year’s 2024 Color Day court were crowned last Saturday, October 19 at the commencement festivities. Thomas Roberts, son of Susan and Andy Roberts, was crowned king during the 2024 ceremony at Boone Central’s Color Day.

State XC, Oct. 25

The Nebraska State Cross Country Championships will be held this coming Friday, October 25th at the Kearney Country Club. The meet will start at 12:00 noon with a Class A and B session. The Class C boys will take off at 3:00 pm while the girls will start at 4:00.

Lady Cards and Spence headed to state

In the world of Boone Central Cross Country, the work of the short fall season is funneled into a narrow gap that ends with the Class C-3 District Championship. To make it through this narrow gap a team must place in the top 3 of the competition while an individual must be among the top 15 placers.

Lady Cards wrap up regular season of play

The regular season came to an end with a flurry of action for the Boone Central volleyball team. They started off the week with a short trip to Fullerton on Tuesday to take on the Warriors (12-10) and came away with a victory in three sets.
