Gasper picks up medal at State X-C, runners see success

Body
If you’ve never been to a Nebraska State Cross Country Meet, you’re really missing something! At a normal state championship in other sports, you may see teams from maybe eight schools per class - but in Cross Country the Kearney Country Club is jammed with teams and spectators from every corner of the state. From huge Omaha schools with over a thousands students down to little schools with only 25.
BC Senior Logan Spence used a hard paced second half to place 32nd at the Nebraska State Cross Country Championships in Kearney.

Library hosts open house in Village Campus location

Body
Last Wednesday evening the Petersburg Public Library hosted an open house in their new location in the Village Campus. Guests were treated to hot chocolate, fresh cookies, candy, crackers and various snacks. Library Board members Jennifer Leifeld and Elaine Beckman provided an opportunity to use and understand the newer interactive computer system now available by creating an Active Articulated Arachnid. Board members noted these programs are available to anyone wanting to use them and kids that like to be creative would love them. Board member Jim Leifeld was also available to answer questions. The library board would also like to acquire a set of Legos if anyone has one to donate.

Babbling Brook

Body
I’m probably what one could consider the biggest scaredy cat in the world. In my later years I have become rather fond of the genre of horror films, but for the first 35 years or so, I wasn’t having much to do with Halloween and “scary stuff.” I didn’t like horror or scary films, but then found that there was a bit of interesting storytelling that could be done with scares and suspense.
