Lady Cardinals fall to O’Neill, Wayne in close contests

After an up and down week against some tough opponents the Boone Central Cardinals (5-4) were back in action against some .500 teams last week. Based off their play the week before, these looked like two very winnable games but unfortunately the ball didn’t bounce their way this week as they dropped both matches losing to O’Neill (5-5) at home on Friday and on the road at Wayne (6-7) on Saturday.

The Boone Central Cardinal wrestling team traveled to David City to take on the Aquinas Catholic team for a dual, falling in the contest with a few forfeits making up most of the point spread against the Cardinals.

FFA youth qualify for State Convention in Lincoln

On December 18th, Boone Central FFA members traveled to Aurora to compete in District Leadership Development Events. The top three finishers in each event qualify to compete at the Nebraska State FFA Convention in Lincoln in April.

The Nebraska School Activities Association has announced the fall activity season award winners for the 2024 Academic All-State awards. Each year the NSAA and the Nebraska Chiropractic Physicians Association recognize students during the fall, winter and spring seasons for their individual academic excellence, leadership and significant contributions to their NSAA activity.

2024 closed out on a high note for the Cardinals with the holiday tournament win and 2025 started off equally well with two solid wins. But the Cardinals of Boone Central (5-4) were brought back down to earth last week with a pair of defeats from conference foes O’Neill (4-5) and Wayne (11-1).

The Boone Central Cardinals wrestling team took to the mats at the “Norm Manstedt” Boys Invitational at Columbus last weekend, taking on some tough competition from Lincoln, Valentine and many schools in-between.
