Valuation protests need to be filed by June 30

Summer is right around the corner, so this week, I would like to provide a reminder of two important deadlines that occur on Tuesday, June 30th. First, June 30th is the last day for individuals to file for a Homestead Exemption for property tax relief.

Three added to ACT Board

Body
Students who earn an ACT score of 27 or above are recognized on the school ACT board for their academic achievement. Congratulations to Preston Rawson, Isaac Meyer, and Andrew Matson, who are recipients for the 2025–2026 school year.

Missoula Theatre to start auditions on June 15

The Albion Area Arts Council has continued plans to welcome the Missoula Children’s Theatre back to Albion June 15–20 with this year’s production of “The Emperor’s New Clothes!” All students who have completed Kindergarten through the 12th grade are invited to audition and participate in the week-long theatre training and play at the end of the week with a number of performances. “With 50–60 roles available, this is a wonderful opportunity for local youth to gain confidence, make new friends, and experience the magic of live theatre!” Auditions will be held on Monday, June 15, with registration starting at 11:30 a.m.

St. Edward alumni gather

The St. Edward High school alumni organization held its annual gathering this past weekend with groups from 2026, 2001 and 1976 recognized as the honored classes this year.

Record holder within short drive from Albion

Located 34 miles west and north of Albion on highway # 91 is “Pibel Lake” home of “Nebraska’s largest Eastern Cottonwood Tree”. So now is the time for a short road trip to see a “National Champion” tree.
