New pump station installed...

Last week the Petersburg Fire Department placed fittings and control box on a large pre-existing submersible well at Bonanza Feedlot site. This will allow an emergency vehicle such as a fire truck to access the well which pumps 240 gallons per minute will hook directly onto any emergency vehicle greatly reducing road time spent traveling to Petersburg for water refills. With the close proximity to the Spalding and Albion Fire Districts this well will be made available to area departments in the hopes that grass fires can be controlled faster, safer and with less damage. Placing the controls and hookup on the well pictured Dale Salber and John Wagner also assisting Boomer Baumgartner.

Farm hobby appeals at Heritage Days

Mert Toelle, of Norfolk, returned again this year to The Rae Valley Heritage Days to share his vast farm collection which he enjoys displaying. He said he started this collection 15 years ago.

Club prepares for Trunk or Treat

A small group of Petersburg Community Club members met Thursday September 4 in The Petersburg American Legion. The meeting was not on the regular date due to Labor Day.

Remembrance Walk held...

The Albion American Legion and auxiliaries held a remembrance walk starting in Fuller Park and the South Picnic Shelter on Sunday, Sept. 7. Mary Jane Noble captured a few pictures from the provided trolley. The walk was held in remembrance of 9/11, and was hosted by the Albion American Legion Post #162, VFW Post #736 and their Auxiliaries.

A memorial service honoring Richard Joseph Stillinger, 86, will be held at Crossings Community Church in Oklahoma City on Friday, September 26th at 1:00 p.m. Richard Joseph Stillinger was born in Albion, to Earle and Florence (Wlaschin) Stillinger, and he passed away peacefully at home on September 2, 2025, at the age of 86.
