The students at Newman Grove Public Schools are getting their cafeteria meals “beefed up”, courtesy of a program called Scott’s Meat Mission. This program was the idea of Scott Nelson, father, farmer and an alumnus of Newman Grove schools.
EducationQuest Foundation has awarded 86 Nebraska schools with 8th-Grade Campus Visit Grants totaling nearly $56,000. Schools will use grant funds of up to $1,350 to support college visits and related activities that enhance student preparation for college throughout the 2025-26 academic year.
Micah Cuevas competed at the state meet held at the Kearney County Club in Kearney on Friday, October 24. After a recall and then a 5-minute delayed start, Cuevas finished 30th out of 131 runners in 17:33.1.
Amazing Bubbles was the program presented to the St. Edward PreK – 2nd grade classes by Edgerton Explorit Center of Aurora on Wednesday, October 22. The program, held at the Community Center, was hosted by the St. Edward Public Library and coordinated by Ella Heath, school librarian, and Vickie Fritzges, public library director.
The Boone Central Cardinals traveled to Ord to take on the Chanticleers (5-3) last Thursday for a shot at claiming a piece of the district title. Ord came into the matchup with an undefeated record in the district having been the only team to take down the GICC Crusaders.
The Boone Central Lady Cardinals took to the court for the C1-5 Sub-District tournament in Leigh on Monday, Oct. 27, knocking off the #2 seeded Homer to move ahead in the sub-district tournament.
