The Boone Central Lady Cardinals Softball team rounded out their regular season in good fashion with a 15-11 win over Ponca at home, and headed into the District tournament on Monday, Oct. 6.
Cornhusker Public Power District has hired three new employees to help with efforts at the district and it’s power supply to the area. Cameron Houfek was hired at Cornhusker Public Power District as an apprentice line technician on the Columbus Underground Construction Crew on May 22, 2025.
Powerhouse Maintenance Supervisor Ron Cieloha was recently recognized for 40 years of service to Loup Power District. In his current role, Cieloha oversees the electrical and mechanical maintenance of the Columbus and Monroe Powerhouses.

The Panther Cross Country team traveled to Atkinson for the meet on Thursday, October 2nd. It was a hot day where junior high ran approximately 1 mile.
With the cool fall air moving in and the leaves beginning to turn, the golf season is definitely on the back nine. Last week, the Cardinals had back-toback meets.
