Yrkoski retires from CPPD

Paul Yrkoski retired from Cornhusker Public Power District on September 5, 2025. Yrkoski was hired in 1990 as a grounds man, promoted to stores/ utility technician in 1991, and purchasing/ stores supervisor in 2015.

Large crowd attends Veterans Day program at Boone Central

A large gathering of community members, students, staff, Veterans and families packed the perofrmance gymasium at Boone Central High School this past Tuesday for the 2025 Veterans Day event. Aaron Wyatt of Albion, and a United States Army veteran, served as the Master of Ceremonies for this year’s event, leading the audience through introductions along with Christopher Stocking from the Boone Central student body.
As the band played, each branch of servicemen and women stood to be recognized during their anthems.
