PCC hosts comedian at Christmas event

Last Monday evening area residents gathered in Werner Hall for the annual Petersburg Community Club Christmas event. The evening began with a Windsor Loin supper catered by the Albion Knights of Columbus and followed by comedian Matt Beller of Omaha.

Cardinals take second at home tournament

The Boone Central Cardinals wrestling teams hosted a Dual Tournament this past weekend, picking up a second place finish overall as a team. Other teams at the event were Gretna East, Crete, Minden, Crofton and Conestoga.

Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph “Joe” V. Knust, 83, of Petersburg, will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 27, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Petersburg, Rev. Frank Baumert and Deacon John Starman will officiate. Interment will be at St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Raeville, with military rites conducted by American Legion Post #334 of Petersburg, and the Army Funeral Honor Guard.

Dr. Stacy E. Charf, 56

Funeral service for Dr. Stacy E. Charf, age 56, of Neligh, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2025 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Elgin. Father Mark McKercher will officiate, and burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Neligh. Visitation will be held Friday, December 26, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Elgin with a wake service at 7:00 p.m. Dr. Charf passed away on December 19, 2025. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Snider Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Sentinel Building hosts blood drive

Sentinel Building Systems in Albion hosted a blood drive last Thursday, collecting 29 units to donate to those in need. Those making collection milestones included: Mari Melcher, 11 gallon; Mark Hooker, 4 gallon; Joe Brugger, 1 gallon, Garrett Bixenmann, 2 gallon; Hadley Gulbrandson, 1 gallon and Carter Beister, 1 gallon..
