Lady Cards finish successful campaign

And thus concludes my third season covering the Boone Central Lady Cards basketball team. It has been an adventure following these young women and Coach Imus for three seasons, filled with highs and lows. But there has definitely been a trajectory this team has been on over these years and that is up. Led by some talented young freshmen and sophomores that have grown into talented hard-working juniors and seniors.

Cornhusker Public Power District is seeking applications from 9, 10 and 11 grade students to attend the Youth Energy Leadership Camp. Cornhusker Public Power District will sponsor six students to attend the all-expense-paid camp, including transportation to and from camp.

Cub Scouts visit Cedar Valley Lumber

On Sunday February 22nd the Cub Scout Pack 155 was hosted by Cedar Valley Lumber in Albion. Brian Nathan and Tim Woebbecke demonstrated several tools to the scouts and provided bird house kits. The scouts were given the opportunity to use the hand tools that were demonstrated to assemble their bird houses. Clark Park project begins...

Work has started on the Clark Park update project, as part of the City of Albion and AEDC’s project that was announced at the beginning of the month. Construction will prioritize the trail segment from the Sports Complex to Clark Park, with the goal of having it completed before ball season begins.

AEDC removes old church buildings on South 9th

Work didn’t take long for the removal of two structures on 9th Street two weeks ago. The Albion Economic Development Council announced the demolition of two buildings on South 9th Street at the beginning part of February, to clear the lots and make them available for new construction., It was mentioned in an online comment that the two buildings were originally schoolhouses that were purchased and moved into Albion by the Albion Seventh-Day Adventist church.

Young parents class hosted by BCHC

This spring, BCHC will host a Young Child Parenting Group, designed to equip parents and guardians with practical tools, encouragement, and support during some of the most important years of parenting.
