Cardinal NUCOR project in top six

Boone Central’s industrial arts students were part of a feature by NUCOR for this year’s Ken Iverson Project in a steel-making and welding competition amongst area high schools. Fifteen schools participated in the event, with the Cardinals making the top six of the project sculptures, which will move to the 2026 Norfolk Area Home and Garden Show on March 20-22.

Club holds pitch tourney...

A 6-point Pitch card tournament was held at the Albion Country Club over the weekend. Taking first-place was Buck Mitchell and Randy Merten as Champions; and David Redler and Zach Ranslem were runner-up.

Chilson awarded for 50 year membership...

On Tuesday, March 3, the Newman Grove American Legion Commander Ivan Herchenbach presented Duane Chilson with his 50 year Golden Certificate and pin. Chilson served in the Special Forces for three years in Vietnam, he was discharged as a Sergeant.

Cardinals close year filled with adversity

While this season may not have been the season any of the members of the Boone Central Cardinals wanted. They persevered through adversity at every turn. Finding ways to hang with tough teams and fighting to the end even in games where victory was out of reach.

Fangman honored for years of dedication

The unit took this opportunity to say thanks to EMS Captain Kim Fangman and present her with a small token of appreciation for the thankless volunteer hours she puts in for the Department without which the EMS squad could not continue.
