Nathan Hemmingsen was selected to wrestle for the AAU World Freestyle tournament from March 18th-24th. Hemmingsen is an 8th grader at Boone Central Middle School.

The third annual Nebraska Junior High (5-8 grade) State Finals Rodeo was held over the weekend at the Boone County Agriculture and Education Center and Niewohner Arena.

I love election season it’s almost as exciting as an auction as I described a few columns ago. Elections have suspense, drama, invested parties - but really the part that makes me the most happy about elections is that it is a constant reminder about what makes this country great - participation.

The Albion Economic Development Corporation and a host of local vendors kicked off the season in downtown Albion with a Cinco De Mayo celebration at the Venue on 4th last week.

Boone Central will be hosting the 2026 Nebraska State Activities Association’s C-6 District track meet on Thursday, May 14. Field events will begin at 11 a.m.
