Confirmed measels prompts vaccine clinics

Four confirmed measles cases in Platte County have been reported to the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, all of which are limited to a single household, with two cases currently active. Thus far, no community spread has been identified. Due to privacy, no further information will be provided.

Stone opens Sisters store on main street

Prairie Sisters’ new home is in the former Sixthth & Hale building on main street in Newman Grove. Owner, Katie Stone, will be selling women’s and kids clothing, home decor and furniture. She will sell online and from the store. Inventory from the previous owner will also be for sale.

Swim lessons for generations of students

Before moving to Albion, Lonnelle Rasmussen, a certified Water Safety Instructor, taught swimming lessons at three other facilities. She began teaching adult swimming lessons at BCFC in January 1986.
Youth of all ages come to the Center for swimming lessons.

Harvest challenges during wind, drought...

Picture taken Thursday, October 17 southwest of Petersburg a miserable day with wind guests from 35 to 40 miles an hour at times totally obscuring the combines in the fields. Harvest has been in full swing during the past weeks much of the dryland has been harvested as well as some irrigated.

UMW to hold The Albion United Methodist Women of Faith will be hosting a soup supper and bazaar on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at the Boone County Fairgrounds Event Center.

The Petersburg Community Club annual carnival was generally well attended despite threating weather in the surrounding area. Emcee for the event was Johnathan Temme who welcomed people to the 67th annual DC Lynch Shows annual carnival.
